Rupas Beach Hotel and Restaurant

Great view from the top balcony. Rooms itself are ok, not a 5 star hotel. Had hot water and WiFi was working, also no problems with ac. For lower budget it’s ok. Close to surf shop and surfing place.

We booked AC rooms with a view all we got was dingy rooms with unflushing toilets! Whenever we sat at the restaurant at the front there was strong stench coming from the gutters. The restaurant did not accept cards saying they only took cash. Makes you wonder if they are even legit! Went to another place the second night which was a better price and a room! There we nothing done by the management to resolve anything! Avoid at all cost! Plenty of good places nearby!

Hired a soft surfboard as a beginner and the staff gave me a cracked one. After 30 min surf it broke down to 2 pieces. The owner asked for 600$ which is crazy price. We paid but it’s a tourist scam, they give you bad shape surfboard and then expect you to broke it.

Beachfront location, rooms have air conditioners and hot water. You can hire surfboards next door and walk to the beach so it’s incredibly convenient for a surf trip. There’s a cafe downstairs with barista coffee and healthy food and there’s a restaurant with ping pong tables and a communal area. Would recommend

Great location and vibes. Great restaurant. Room was good and spacious but smelt of Mold. They tried to fix it but didn't manage. Did laundry through them - lost one of my shirts.

Great place close to baby point and the main point. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Good restaurant with generous portions. The staff is very nice.

The bill was wrong in many ways (tried to charge extra) and took a while to explain them why. Also the happy hour is shady, they announce it as 2x1 on every drink but afterwards it's just on a few of them as shown in a blackboard. Food is nothing special either. Without the bill and happy hour problems it would have been a 3 star review maybe. But as we left the place feeling they just had tried to cheat us, its a 1 star. Place and views are nice though, but so they are in the neighbouring restaurants.

Fantastic location overlooking the bay, ideally situated for Main Point & Bay Point surf spots. The room was clean & bright, and the bed incredibly comfortable. The restaurant onsite offers a great & diverse menu with rice & curry buffet night being the best there is Arugam Bay. Surf board hire is available with helpful staff on hand to assist you in your choice. Overall the staff are all friendly, welcoming & helpful and go the extra mile to ensure a welcoming & comfortable stay. Highly recommend Rupa’s Hotel for your stay in Arugam Bay.

European-style restaurant. The best rice and Curry buffet I've had for six months, and a delicious chicken burrito with real cheese, etc

Rupas hotel is a quiet and beautiful place to relax and work. The rooms are clean and bright, with large windows. There's also fantastic balcony views of the sea and the green garden.

I was so happy that the Main spot is very close, Baby spot is directly opposite. And the owners also have a board rental service.
I felt at home!

I visited Rupas in July and August 2020 regularly either for surfboard hire or evening dining. I also stayed a couple of nights in the hotel and I had a great experience every single time without exception. The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious and the surfboards are good quality and well-maintained. The restaurant has comfortable seating and it's super close to the beach. You should check out their tasty curry buffet nights: the live music or the adorable Dachshund will definitively entertain you ;)

I love this place, but last few time it was terrible, first I order chicken burrito and potato was black color, so dry and hard! Can’t eat even, burrito was not enough salt. And yesterday I order seafood fried rice, it’s was tasty, but after I was poisoning, very hard something wrong with seafood I guess! Otherwise I order not first time, but first time like this, never, never order there nothing! And now because of you I can’t eat nothing, and I can’t feed my baby!

I don’t want money back, I want people know what are u doing for your customers! Never recommend your place! 2 days I have very hard stomach paining because of your rice! I want people now that you use not good food for cooking, better you check everything before give for people!

The food is good. But you should come when you have enough patience. It took about 1 hour for the toast to come up. 30 min for a tea with tea bag in. The guy who took the order was kinda rude. But the guy who brought you food was friendly. Don’t come when you finished surfing starving.

Pretty good view and located next to the Bay, but thats about it. We waited about 1h 15minutes to get our food. Wouldn't recommend it.

Had a wonderful week stay at Rupas! Great food, best staff in Arugam bay and affordable prices. Location is fantastic right at the, it’s a staple of the area even if you don’t stay drop in for the rice and curry and an ice cold during happy hour. FYI like most great seasonal spots it’s potentially closed off season.

I would highly recommend going to this restaurant ad staying at this hotel. First because of its very great location near the beach, baby and main point. And also because of the quality of the food and the friendly and very professional team there. Great place for breakfast as well as for dinner and lunch. Clean and cozy rooms. Price is reasonable. My favs on the menu: homemade muesli, rice and different carry, grild fresh seafood. The best room is with sea view. Also you can find surf shop and tour shop here. They make your holiday memorable. One of my top 3 place in Arugambay! Highly recomended! I'll difenetely come back!

Food was delicious. Prawn taco and chicken and bacon burrito particularly good. Fresh fruit juices made to order. Relaxing atmosphere seconds from beach. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
