Upper Glencairn Bangalow reviews
33This place is a dirty dump that is falling apart. There is BLACK MOLD everywhere, including the towels, which is very dangerous to expose guests to. It will travel with you back to your homes and can cause serious health issues. There are currently rodents living in the roof of the upper bungalow. The carpets, furniture and every surface are caked with dirt. I even had a look at their laundry room and it is filthy. The staff is nice but highly incompetent. STAY AWAY.
Though I haven't stayed overnight but on several occasion took lunch here while travelling along. Approach is a bit constricted and is through the Dickoya hospital. But once there, view of surrounding mountains is beautiful. On a clear day, one can see the 'Shripada'. Tea served here is excellent and the staff is courteous. Good place for a hop while one is travelling to or from Hatton.
Traditional architecture. Friendly staff. Limited menu. Poor quality food if not curry and rice.
If in the Maskeliya area this is one of the few options for accommodation. The inside of the bungalow has been semi renovated and the rooms are okay. For a colonial bungalow over 100 years old the grandeur of such a structure has not been captured. Rooms and food are acceptable for a overnight stay. The garden and outside areas are woefully neglected by its current owners
Cool place. Nice surrounding. Staff is nice. Food is great and reasonable. U need to plan ur visit well as there very limited attractions to see.
A Beautiful bungalow. Clean and comfortable accommodations with Great Foods. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Food is okay, and service is satisfactory during daytime. But the place is mostly deserted at night. Went on on a Sunday around 9.00pm and after knocking for 10 minutes and calling their phone twice someone finally turned up. And guess what, instead of bringing the menu, he went to the kitchen to check what they had to serve. We had to be content with a plate of vegetable fried rice and deviled chicken.
Past its high time but yet a great experience. Rooms are clean although a brush up would be needed. Clean bathroom. The warm atmosphere and the great staff made it a very pleasant experience after all.
Ideal place to spend your leisure time with scenic beauty with a sense of calmness. Extremely friendly staff, good food.
A colonial bungalow overlooking the Castlereagh reservoir and the adams peak, this bungalow s situated amidst acres of tea plantations. They offer very well up kept five bedrooms with attached bathrooms (with hot water). Staff is active and welcoming. Free wifi, western, eastern and local cuisines, bellboys/front-desk staff, room service, bar, launge area, spacious garden with outdoor restaurant spaces and parking space are some of the facilities offered.
This hotel is comparatively cheaper, as it is owned by the bank of ceylon, a state bank of Sri Lanka. But it never is a budget hotel where only a bed and a meal is offered. For the facilities and the experience (food, location, era) it offers this can be considered as a cheaper boutique hotel.
If you are to take away food, you have to wait a long time and the food is not upto the expectation
A nice and a queit place.has good views. Good for family holidays. Waiting time is bit longer. Service and quality of food is average. But reasonable price.
Beautiful bungalow from 1906 nestled in tea plantations overlooking the lake and peaks beyond. Decent choice of food on the menu and a reasonably stocked bar. Spent just one night here but I will be back for more. Lots of opportunity to walk around the bungalow that is cut off from the very little town below.
