Ariya Rest House

11 of us slept in the hotel one night. The rooms were very clean and the dinner and breakfast were great. The people there are very good hosts. We definitely recommend it.

Hidden place but highly recommendable!
We had lunch at Ariya's on a round trip together with our tour guide and driver. All of us were welcomed like friends. The buffet lunch was delicious and of great variety, including desserts. I recommend also trying curry's with things we Europeans hardly get to taste elsewhere like Jackfruit or Durian.

A well hidden restaurant in Ponnaruva that serves excellent food. You should try veg fried rice with ambrella (mango) curry. Also vegetable sandwiches and cheese sandwiches were delicious. We were four people. We had m fresh mango juices and they were great. I strongly recommend eating here. I recommend that you take enough Srikankan currency or dollars (might take INR) as they don’t have credit card facility.

One fabulous restaurant. Whether one requires Sri Lankan or food of one's choice. The location is out of a fairytale. But for an urgent eater, rather hidden. But the two guys who educate the city viewers, do a grand job. The food with it's extensive mouth watering dishes, is a gastronomical delight. And its host Shani. The live wire behind it deserves all the kudos and more. I shall most certainly be back.

Great place, very nice and clean.friendly staff.run by a family. They are maintaining a good standard. Shani the owner is so nice and helpful. Very good for a family and anyone. Very pleasant and friendly staff. Food and drinks are delicious. Value for money. I spent two days in Pawle with everyone.i stayed two days in Sep 23 with my whole family. It was great!

We asked them to pack us lunch for take away! Super friendly service and they gave us such huge portions! There was such a variety of curries with our rice. Amazing! So tasty thank you!

We had a buffet lunch. We were a group of 2 US, 1 Chinese and 2 Indian. We all loved the simple and very tasty food. They had variety of vegetarian food also which were traditionally make. It was like home food. All staff look happy and helpful nature.

Returning from Polonnaruwa, late at about 4pm, we were taken to Ariya Rest House for lunch. Although the buffet was closed by then, they hosted us very graciously and served very tasty Sri Lankan food, fresh and hot! Thank you!

I visited here a year ago. Excellent place to stay when you are at Pollonnaruwa. Prices are reasonable; It would be better to call them directly and make your reservation. Foods are yummy, and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. They will provide you with friendly service; I like the young girl who always welcomes the customers wearing a smile.

Amazing! Very helpful staff with smile on all faces. Very spacious and clean rooms. Super tasty foods and well maintained pool as well. It is worth more than we pay. We would recommend it to everybody:)

Wonderful place to stop after visiting the ancient temple. The young family hostess is very welcoming and helpful to international tourists. I would have thought she was Australian/Sri Lankan

Very nice people. Delicious and varied foods in a form of a buffet. Worth to stay while coming to (or leaving) Polannaruwa. The best place we had for a dinner in Sri Lanka so far.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of vegan dishes offered at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and eager to please, although only one person spoke English.

We were waiting for 1 hour for our meals and they were just constantly saying ‘sorry’. Some meals were ok and some were bad. Also, the sauce in one of the meals went bad. Our group of friends went there only because our guide recommended it.

Visited today with my family on our third day of fourteen in Shrilanka. The buffet food was simply amazing. Fresh vibrant and delicious. I will be leaving a more detailed review when we return and upload some photos. Thank you Shani, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you today.
