Ariya Rest House

A lovely place to stay in Polonnaruwa. Very friendly staff who made us very comfortable. The room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Rooms are on the first floor and have a wide veranda with tables and chairs placed conveniently. The dinner and lunch were very tasty Sri Lankan food. Adequate car parking available.

Very good restaurant. We ate there for approximately 5€ per person. It was cheap, but a lot of choice and freshly made food. I recommend this place!

Beautiful place, close to all interesting things like temple or lake with freely roaming elephants. Rooms are nice and clean. There is a swimming pool and SPA with very traditional sauna to enjoy. Staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful. Highly recommended to everyone.

We visited this place by chance as the tuk tuk brought us here for lunch enroute to Polonnaruwa from Sigiriya while on a day trip tour. We had buffet lunch which costs Rs 900 per pax. The buffet has fairly good spread of Sri Lankan local foods like rice, cooked vegetables dishes, non-vege like chicken and also desserts like milk curd. Overall, I feel it is worth the money as we got to taste the authentic local cuisines. However, the a la carte items on the menu are a bit expensive. Service is fast, friendly and attentive. Toilets are clean. I believe there are accommodation available at this place too. This place is a little secluded with a short distance from the main road to Polonnaruwa.
