Nice place very calm and quiet, meals are excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, I like to return there.

We have stayed many times there, the quality of the hotel has gone down drastically.
Staff should be more trained and prepared. Even the rooms were not much clean. Their checkin and check out policies are also questionable.

3 over 80's. Val from Didsbury, Mahes and Rani from Sale, Cheshire all Brits spent 4 days here. We had a cottage each. The place felt as if the great Tank (Reservoir) builders Parakramabahu, Agbo (Giritaletank) and Mahasena (Minneriyatank) had Summoned their palace architects to build aplace with Buddhist simplicity and utmost respect for trees and the enviorenment. We were here when the park was full of deer and the Hotel staff and guests, especially children fed them, often from their hands. The deer returned to the forest with the Pandemic. They will return. What makes any Hotel a proper place of Hospitality are the staff who serve from the poolboy (Elkaduwa) nad the charming, sari clad receptionists (phone and in person) the waiter (Janaka) and the manager aptly named "from the forest" (de Silva) who took his time to actually SPEAK to his guests. I could imagine the Buddha giving his first sermon The dhammachakkapavaththantasutta in migadaye (deer sanctuary) to these lovely smiling kind people. Sri Lankans at the most ordinary. You must have read about world heritage controlled places where Travel Agents take you to. The gem of pre Anuradhapura buddhist stone architecture and sculpture is MADIRIGIRIYA. No european bare legs to be seen there and please keepi it secret. You dont pay to reflect on Buddhist compassion in that place. You can see how resilient the Sri Lankans are and that they bear no resentment to those who have invaded and destroyed their cities and statues. Learn from Deer Park Hotel and reflect on nature there.

Nice location, beautiful setup. Staff was very friendly. Food was not the best, but we got this on discount, so I won't complain.

Hotel has located in a green and clam environment. But there are few issues we have faced like cleanliness of rooms are not satisfied. Bathroom water bit muddy and cleanliness of the pool water not satisfied as well. We booked over the phone, staff was very unprofessional and not friendly. Food was ok but not up to the standard. Creamer and sugar served to the rooms are seems expired.

I stay with my family for two days. Its was relaxing and feel like in the jungle. Food is tasty and pool is good. Its understandable due to this pandemic situation some facilities are not there. All I have to say its good place to be stay and its very close to Polunnaruwa.

Lovely place, with all green surrounding and quite nicely architectured. Rooms are quite nicely designed and almost all the facilities are there. However, just a bit cramped in my opinion.
Customer service though, was not up to our expectation. Especially the restaurant. The service at the restaurant was so slow, which we had to spend almost 3h to get all our dinner served. There was no buffet and a quite limited menu. Something we noticed was staff treated differently for locals and foreigners. For example, locals and foreigners were served with 2 different menus, and always foreigners got served first and then us locals. Which is why we got served so late I believe. There was one instance where few foreigners (Indians I guess) got served, and they were not satisfied, and they got re-served. All this time, we were just waiting for our main course to come. I understand this is a crisis time for us, and we’re in need of foreign currency, but this level of service is utterly disappointing.
Deer Park was one of the places I always wanted to visit, but now I’m in a position that I’d think twice before I recommend it to another. However, still I adore this place for how they’ve used the nature to decorate the place.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Food was very tasty. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel

Bugs in the bath tub.not enough hot water to take a bath. No wash cloths or hand towels. Food was just ok. Great view from the lobby and restaurant.

Location is good. Bath room clean but shower is in the open area. Cannot take bath during raining. Foods good but not many item specially very few vegi.no inter come to communicate with staff. Facilities not at 4 star level. Chargers are very expensive in the bar. Room service very poor. No value for money.

A highlight of my trip to Sri Lanka. Highly attentive service, very comfortable and spacious rooms with a semi outdoor bathroom that really makes you enjoy the lush environment even more. Beautiful and peaceful pool surrounded by plants and trees. Extensive breakfast and dinner and buffet, and the hotel organised a driver for me to visit Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya & Dambulla. It is an oasis! My only tip for other travellers is to plan for dinner at the hotel unless you have a car and can get around easily as there are few shops/restaurants nearby. I would love to come back!

Great environment with the nice view of Girithale lake. Friendly & supportive staff. Good buffet & clean restaurant. Kids loves the outdoor, bathtub & pool.
Easy to reach Minneriya, Kaudulla & Hurulu echo park️.
Also close to Sri Lanka's only wildlife museum. ️

Deer park hotel is located just next to girithale tank in polonnaruwa district. Which is near perfect nature friendly hotel with lots of trees and ponds around facing to girithale tank. Architecture of the hotel similar to ancient Srilankan palace with many traditional and authentic architectural patterns and styles.

Beautiful hotel, Services quiet excellent, big pool, food very tasty but basic buffet, no much variety,

If your environment lover you should visit, not good place for food lovers

Clean rooms, spacious bathrooms, delicious foods, friendly staff, flexible meal shedules, peaceful environment & many more.

The location is really good for photo shoots and whatnot. But the service and the facilities in the rooms are not up to the standards they claim. Had to have baths with muddy water for two days due to some plumbing issues they said. Do not take the honeymoon suite. It's just another room with some flower petals on the bed. Just take a normal room and you won't be missing anything. Buffet is good regardless.
